Last nite I watched a new video by Oasis. It was called "The Masterplan". They´re releasing a new collection of their more prominent songs presumably, with an album "Stop The Clocks". Today, Oasis The Band is what it is. Some like it, some don´t. Still, back in 1994 they really we´re a special band. As I heard "Supersonic" the first time, it was a moment of totally constructing my music preferences altogether in a new exciting light. This is how rock should feel like. This is how a rock band should look like. Then "Live Forever". Still perfectly located in All Time Top Lists. They came on doing two great albums, then others less successful. However, over the passing time, they´ve always performed some nice results within those Post-Glory years. Like "D´You Know What I Mean". Like "Gas Panic". Like "Stop Crying Your Heart Out". Like "Songbird". Like "Part Of The Queue". They´re just a good rock band. And that´s where I find it all quite funny sometimes. For that how serious some people feel about it all. They´ve done some great songs and others not so. So what? What is this intense ferocious negativity in all things whatsoever via Pitchfork et al? Isn´t it just nice having them around. Even in 2006.

Oasis hasn´t ever pulled it off with music videos. I don´t know why. It just seems they quite often end up looking pretty goofy. Maybe they´d need some guidance from these top of the world art designer heroes. Like this new one. "The Masterplan". And it really sounds nearly as great as the first time around. So they made this cartoon video representing them as a band. Fair enough. But somehow it just looks plain silly. With Cartoon Liam making a self prophecizing characterization of himself. Maybe they really meant it like that. Still, with this track, for this day, I would had rather seen Oasis being reflected in quite a different way. But then they´re just another rock band. A funny band. Oh yeah.
